Are Entrepreneurs Happier?

Are Entrepreneurs Happier?

Are entrepreneurs happier than average people?  In her blog post, Why Entrepreneurs Have the Upper Hand on Happiness, Marla Tabaka observes that many entrepreneurs suffer from the trap that success brings happiness, which can lead to the belief that "I will be happy when _____."  Put another way, people that view happiness as a by-product of success are chasing the horizon -- despite walking toward it, the horizon is always out of reach.

According to Tabaka, "Entrepreneurs who develop and live their passion, vision, and purpose tend to find that inner state of peace and well-being..." She suggests that entrepreneurs (1) focus on the good, (2) apply a positive spin to things, and (3) expect good things to happen.

Rather than working hard on being successful to later be happy, you may want to try deciding to be happy now and watch your success grow when you are focused on your passion.
